Pinkston Hill out of Queen St, Glasgow |
Description: |
This is a photograph of an A4 pacific being 'helped' up the hill out of Queen Street Station in Glasgow. The picture was taken in the late 1950's or early 60's. The building in the back ground is that of the old Pinkston power station which has long since been flattened. This was a common sight at the time as the incline was usch that locos would begin to slip on the rails and were given a helping 'push' to keep them going. |
