Staplehurst in Kent was the scene of a major accident on 9 June 1865 when the 1438 Folkestone to London tidal train derailed at engineering works to the East of the station, killing ten passengers. Among the survivors was Charles ****ens. On Saturday 15 December 2007, Class 375/6 units nos. 375601 and 375606 speed through the station with the 1057 Ramsgate / 1104 Margate to London Charing Cross service. |
